CCE prepares your data for our system to process. It's user-friendly, fully documented, and designed to be run by anyone – your IT professionals or legal staff, for example.

Powerful

CCE also comes with many powerful features that can be used by experts through a specialized scripting interface, allowing you to filter collections in a more sophisticated manner or consistently replicate collection conditions between computers. If you need specialized assistance, Cataphora personnel can be contracted to write custom filters or other scripts to suit your needs. We can also come on-site to do collection for you.

Defensible

CCE is carefully designed to meet your legal needs. Logs and reports are generated and a full audit trail is created to fully document and verify each step of the collection process. The collection is conducted in a legally sound and defensible manner, with an unassailable audit trail and no risk of spoliation.

Flexible

CCE is designed to be as flexible as possible. This is very important since you might not know exactly how you need to do a particular collection until there's little time to adapt. Here are a few scenarios our product can address:

Want something simple and done in stages? Run CCE from a USB drive, taken from computer to computer to do collection. The drive is then completely ready for processing, with applicable metadata already in place. Repeat with additional drives as needed.
Want to minimize foot traffic and hassle on your custodians? CCE can be installed on a single computer and connect to your organization's various computers remotely, provided your network infrastructure is configured to allow such access.
Have a lot of data? CCE supports many concurrent hard drives, and can fail over or switch between them as necessary for optimum collection.
Have a full calendar? Collections can be scheduled to run only at certain times of the day to minimize impact on your custodians, and can throttle its network traffic and disk access as needed.

System requirements

The Cataphora Collection Engine requires a computer running a Microsoft® Windows® operating system (2000, XP, Vista or 7). We also have solutions to collect from computers running Mac OS® X, Linux® and Unix® operating systems.
