Silicon Valley-Based Evidence Analytics and Review Company Further Strengthens Strategic Presence with New Hires
Redwood City, CA. November 27, 2007.
Cataphora, Inc., an industry-leading provider of evidence analytics and review software, today announced wide expansion of its sales and business development teams. Newly appointed members to the Cataphora team include Art Skaran as managing director of sales for the Western region, and Nicholas Scheer (Northeast), Winslow Chapman, Jr. (Southeast), Chip Hansen (Northeast) and Robert Artisst (Southwest) as directors of business development. Following the recent announcement of its European expansion, Cataphora’s further development into these regional markets underpins the company’s continued momentum and importance in investigative analytics and corporate compliance solutions.
"We are delighted to welcome this group of talented individuals to help Cataphora respond to the increasing demand for our software across the United States," said Elizabeth Charnock, CEO of Cataphora. "As more companies abandon paper-based systems for comprehensive digital solutions, the e-discovery market is becoming more and more important. These appointments further strengthen our ability to meet our customers’ growing requirements for investigative analytics solutions."
Skaran brings to Cataphora a valuable combination of business, technology and legal experience from his time at companies including Aptara Litigation Services (formerly Whitmont Legal Technologies), where he was vice president of professional services, and IKON Office Solutions, Inc. Prior to that, he was an associate attorney with Thompson O’Donnell, LLP in Washington, DC.
"Cataphora provides unprecedented capabilities to find and analyze the most important electronic evidence at a time when the legal industry is struggling with challenges brought on by new federal rules and a dramatic increase in the volume and variety of electronic data," said Skaran. "New forms of communication, such as instant messaging and texting, have brought about changes, almost overnight, in the way information must be searched in order to find and understand relevant evidence. It is exciting to be with a company that is at the forefront of addressing this challenge – one of the most critical problems lawyers face today."
Cataphora is also building its business development team with the addition of four strategic hires. Nicholas Scheer brings with him experience as an account executive with Fios Inc., and IKON. With Fios, he was consistently the highest-producing sales executive and was "Sales Executive of the Year" every year. Winslow Chapman formerly worked for OnSite3 E-Discovery and Cricket Technologies as a strategic account representative, regional manager and electronic discovery consultant. Chip Hansen’s background includes more than 13 years of sales and marketing experience in the litigation support services industry at companies including Canon USA resellers and IKON. Robert Artisst was most recently regional director of professional services with Aptara. He has sold litigation support services for 12 highly successful years, including with Capitol LLC and Daticon.
About Cataphora
Cataphora Inc. is the creator of C-Analytics and C-Evidence, the solutions of choice for investigative analytics and electronic evidence review. C-Analytics provide attorneys and investigators with unprecedented insight into electronic data, revealing fact and behavior patterns and providing answers to critical questions that were previously unanswerable. C-Evidence Electronic Evidence Review presents clients with the most important evidentiary data early in the review cycle and more effectively filters out junk and the other non-responsive data. By contrast with software that merely groups documents based on similarity of their contents, C-Evidence automatically finds the relationships among all the documents and all the people who created, received, or interacted with them, using these to present data for review in the most efficient review platform available.
Cataphora's C-Evidence Platform is being widely used by corporate legal departments, private law firms, and investigators with document-intensive matters in such areas as white-collar crime, securities, antitrust and intellectual property.
Cataphora is headquartered in Redwood City, California, with offices in Washington, DC, and Frankfurt, Germany, and with a certified reseller in London, England, and a field office in France. For more information, please visit www.cataphora.com.
